Chase Carey's salary could top $43 mil


July 02, 2009 Chase Carey could earn up to $43.1 million in salary and bonuses in his first year after recently agreeing to return to News Corp. as president, COO and deputy chairman with a five-year contract, according to a regulatory filing. Carey will receive a base salary of $8.1 million a year and a $10 million signing bonus, News Corp. said in a regulatory filing Wednesday as first reported by The Wall Street Journal. The Journal, owned by News Corp.'s Dow Jones unit, said Carey's contract gives him the same base salary and maximum bonus as Chernin.
