Head of Korean Film Council resigns


July 02, 2009 Korea's minister of culture said Wednesday that he has accepted the resignation of Kang Han-seop, head of the Korean Film Council. Han and Kofic were severely criticized in a government audit published June 19, with the organization receiving an E grade, the lowest of any public body. Kang only took up the job in May 2008, but was soon accused of trying to impose conservative political views on the industry and ran into dispute with Kofic staff unions.
