Carpenter takes 2 roles to the bank

August 21, 2007 Jack Carpenter, the breakout star of NBC's comedy pilot "Lipshitz Saves the World" this past development season, has been tapped as the lead in Comedy Central's half-hour pilot "Held Up." "Held Up," from Sony Pictures TV, centers on a bored bank teller (Carpenter) whose life changes dramatically when two teams of crazy robbers -- disguised as James Bond, Spider-Man, Batman and Larry, Curly and Mo -- hold up his branch. "Jezebel," from Regency TV, centers on Sarah (Parker Posey), a successful book editor who can't conceive and asks her estranged younger sister Coco (Lauren Ambrose) to carry her baby for her.
