'Ice Age' sequel tops overseas boxoffice


July 05, 2009 Dawn of the Dinosaurs seized the No. 1 spot on the foreign circuit over the July 4 weekend as the third installment of the family-oriented series drew an estimated $151.7 million from 11,791 screens in 101 markets. In Spain and Mexico, the conventional theatrical edition ranked No. 1 in each market while the 3D version finished No. 2 in both. Universal released director Michael Mann's Depression-era crime drama in only five markets – the U.K., Denmark, Mexico, Greece and Serbia/Montenegro – for $5.5 million from a total of 968 screens.
