Del Toro's 'Orphanage' home with NL
September 08, 2007 After months of negotiations, the studio picked up the English-language remake rights to the Spanish-language thriller, which marks the directorial debut of del Toro protege Juan Antonio Bayona. Produced by del Toro and Spain's Telecinco Cinema and Rodar y Rodar, with the participation of Warner Bros. Spain, "Orphanage" is written by Sergio Sanchez and revolves around a woman who returns to the orphanage where she grew up with the intention of opening a home for handicapped children.
