ABC, NBC pick up drama pilots
January 22, 2009 Three modern-day witches and three hospital nurses have entered the fall 2009 fray as ABC and NBC handed out pilot orders to dramas "Eastwick" and "Mercy," respectively. NBC's "Mercy," Universal Media Studios, is a drama with comedic elements that revolves around three nurses bound together in friendship by the highs and lows of their personal and professional lives. NBC is on the verge of a couple of other drama pilot pickups, with Dario Scardapane's medical drama "Trauma" said to be pending and a project from Jesse Alexander said to be very close.
