Elizabeth Banks to produce 'Pitch Perfect'


May 16, 2008 Universal hopes to hit just the right note with "Pitch Perfect," acquiring the rights to a nonfiction tome by Mickey Rapkin for Elizabeth Banks to produce. Kay Cannon ("30 Rock") has been tapped to write the adaptation, which Banks will produce with her Brownstone Prods. shingle partner Max Handelman. Rapkin, senior editor at GQ magazine, spent a season covering competitive collegiate a cappella.
