'Astro Boy' taking off in fall 2009, Summit says
September 23, 2008 Imagi Studios is producing the futuristic "Astro Boy," which centers on the adventures of a robot boy with superhero powers. The character was originally launched as a Japanese manga and enjoyed a revival of sorts with the emergence of that genre; the Cartoon Network has aired episodes of the original Japanese series. Summit says it's shooting for a wide release in the range of 3,000 theaters as it aims for an audience of both adults and children.
