Film Independent fast-tracks 10 projects

June 19, 2009 Film Independent, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, has chosen 10 projects for its seventh annual Fast Track program, which connects filmmakers with film industry professionals. The fellowship combines HBO's funding with Find's year-round support services to give documentary filmmakers the necessary tools to develop their craft. Industry participants include representatives from Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate, the Weinstein Co., Participant Prods., Roadside Attractions, Yari Film Group, the Film Department, River Road, Groundswell Productions, Mandalay, Film Colony, Volume One Entertainment, Camelot, Cherry Road Films, Bona Fide, Artina, Fortis Films and Contra Films, as well as agents from CAA, ICM, UTA, and the Gersh Agency.
