60Frames Entertainment lays off six
October 30, 2008 Digital studio 60Frames Entertainment laid off six employees Thursday, the latest in a rash of online-minded startups shedding jobs amid the economic crunch. The layoffs will not affect 60Frames' recently announced pact with NBC Universal Digital Studio to supply a slate of original series that would get greenlighted once a sponsor is attached. Launched last July with $3.5 million in funding from Tudor Investment Corp., the Pilot Group and unspecified individuals, 60Frames was one of the first of a new breed of studios producing and syndicating content for multiplatform consumption.
