Sony Pictures Classics on Monday snapped up all rights for North America, Latin America, Germany and South Africa for Neil Jordan's "Breakfast on Pluto," in a deal struck with Pathe Pictures International, Parallel Films and Number 9 Films. Set in the 1970s, "Breakfast on Pluto" follows the exploits of Patrick Braden (Murphy), who is billed as an endearing but deceptively tough young man who survives his harsh environment using his wit and charm. Pathe U.K. managing director Francois Ivernel said he thought SPC was the "best distributor to bring 'Breakfast on Pluto' to the U.S."
