10 and counting, New Line's "Jason X" is a sci-fi slasher with plenty of the squeamish jolts and crimson flashes that genre fans expect, and it may offend viewers not amused by the sick sense of humor.
Just a tad ridiculous from the get-go, like cheapie ancestor "It," but not a directionless endeavor on executive producer Sean S. Cunningham's watch, the special effects-heavy "Jason" appears headed for cult hit status after a short stint in theaters.
