Veteran laserdisc and DVD distributor David Goodman is jumping into the high-definition arena with eight HD-DVD titles meant to showcase the format's superior resolution and other capabilities. All titles will be DVD and HD-DVD combos, with standard DVD content on one side and the same program in high-definition on the other. First up is the HD-DVD version of "Digital Video Essentials" ($34.95), produced in conjunction with Microsoft, which consists of a full range of audio and video test signals for home entertainment tune-ups.
