Jackson is in his savvy, suspicious street-dude mode from such pictures as "Shaft" or "S.W.A.T." And Levy is ... well, Levy in just about every reality-challenged chatterbox role he's played from "Best in Show" to "American Pie." The script (by Jim Piddock, Margaret Oberman and Steve Carpenter) is contrived, characters lack credibility and the film doesn't seem to understand the different jurisdictions between federal officers and local police, but none of this matters. Jackson's Derrick Vann is a hard-core ATF undercover agent who trusts no one, not even his mother.
