Hot on the heels of Heath Ledger's Oscar-nominated turn in "Brokeback Mountain," ThinkFilm has picked up all North American rights to his latest project, the addiction drama The film is set to hit theaters in the fall.
In Neil Armfield's directorial debut, which is based on the novel he adapted with its author, Luke Davies, Ledger and Abbie Cornish play Bohemian artists whose passion for each other is matched by a growing passion for heroin.
Of Ledger's role, Urman said, "In 'Candy,' he plays a hopeless poet who does everything wrong, and it takes a very special actor to make a character like that undeniably sympathetic and empathetic."
