Such a penalty should be assessed for his latest money-seeking turn in "BloodRayne," a half-baked video game adaptation in which this distinguished and brilliant actor plays a vampire patriarch who looks not so much undead as embalmed. The film's casting director clearly deserves kudos for an eclectic assemblage that includes Michael Madsen, Michelle Rodriguez, Udo Kier, Meat Loaf Aday, Michael Pare, Billy Zane and even Geraldine Chaplin. Assisting her in her efforts is a trio of vampire hunters played by Madsen, in desperate need of a haircut; Rodriguez, looking more than a little out of place; and Matt Davis, who enjoys a torrid sex scene with Loken involving a cell door.
