The network has ordered 13 episodes of "Dragnet," a new one-hour version of Jack Webb's classic cop show, from writer-producer Dick Wolf ("Law & Order") for midseason 2002-03. " 'Dragnet' is the single greatest cop-show franchise in television history," Wolf said in an interview. "Dick's ideas for a new 'Dragnet' excited us the moment we heard them," ABC entertainment president Susan Lyne said in a statement.
