Billed as an erotic thriller, writer-director Michael Cristofer's "Original Sin" merits neither description. The late Francois Truffaut presented his version of the Cornell Woolrich novel "Waltz into Darkness" in 1969, "Mississippi Mermaid" -- one of his few flops -- and French audiences have steered away from this remake. The movie has had a little more than 150,000 admissions to date despite the draw of two of Hollywood's hottest stars.
