Canadian broadcaster CanWest Global Communications Corp. said Tuesday that it has picked up "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl" for the Canadian market on the eve of its U.S. launch on Bravo. A spokesman for Winnipeg, Manitoba-based CanWest Global said it had bought the spinoff series from the makers of the original "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" makeover show and likely will air it in the summer. "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" airs on rival Canadian broadcaster Chum Ltd.
