Continuing its buying streak, Paramount Studios has bought Tim Herlihy's pitch "The Fighting Quakers" for a reported $1.5 million.
"Quakers" centers on an up and coming Philadelphia lawyer who, wanting to schmooze potential clients, joins "The Fighting Quakers," a storied National Guard unit that has devolved into a social club for the city's wealthy elite.
The scribe has written many of the comedian's films, including "Billy Madison," "Happy Gilmore" and "The Wedding Singer."
