Given the pedigree of a package that includes an adversarial John Travolta and Vince Vaughn, "Sea of Love" director Harold Becker and "October Sky" scribe Lewis Colick, it's understandable to expect something more than standard-issue chills. The end result is still probably good enough to satisfy audiences in need of a decent distraction on the home front, which should guarantee this Paramount release some very healthy domestic returns. With its universal dysfunctional family angle, overseas boxoffice isn't looking too shabby, either.
