The debut episode of "Enterprise" should bring a wide smile of delight to fans and even casual viewers of the galactic adventure epics. Production values, direction (credit James L. Conway) and writing (exec producers/creators Rick Berman and Brannon Braga) are up to the highest standards of the "Trek" adventures. A prequel to the original "Star Trek," the UPN opener features another kind of "Quantum Leap" -- through space, not time -- for the likable Scott Bakula as Capt. Jonathan Archer.
