While "The Game" could have been selected on its own merits, its most appealing quality right now is the way it complements CW's returning sitcom, "Girlfriends," from which it was spun off. Creator Mara Brock Akil, who also created "Girlfriends," brings to the new show a similar style of humor as well as a tested formula that includes sexy young actors, relationship misunderstandings and closing scenes full of hugs and understanding. "Game" refers both to the battle of the sexes as well as pro football.
