With this latest effort, actress Isabelle Huppert further establishes her position as the grand dame of sexual decadence in European cinema. The actress plays the central role of Helene, the mother to handsome 17-year-old Pierre (Louis Garrel of "The Dreamers"), who has just returned to the family's summer home in the Canary Islands after a stint at a Catholic boarding school. Soon, the rather depressed teen finds himself engaged in a series of increasingly perverse sexual acts, often with the help of mom's best friends and frequent bedroom partners (Joana Preiss, Emma de Caunes).
