[...] "Brooklyn Lobster," based on the filmmaker's experiences with his family's lobster-farming business in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, ultimately has the air of a home movie project blown up to feature-length proportions. The director previously collaborated with his brothers (one of who serves as producer here, while the other co-wrote the script) on a documentary short about his family's business. The story line centers on the financial crisis facing Frank Giorgio (Danny Aiello), whose lobster business is threatened for public auction.
