Cable network FX is in talks with NASCAR to create a reality series involving the stock car racing circuit, an FX spokesman said Thursday.
NASCAR, whose ratings have consistently increased on the four networks that televise its races, is searching for ways to broaden the visibility of its sport, which is carried on FX, Fox, NBC, and Turner Network Television in an unusual sharing arrangement.
NASCAR and network executives touted their success Thursday at a news conference in New York as part of the sport's annual championship week leading up to its awards ceremony tonight.
