After more than a decade away from the big screen, Australian director is shifting from gender bending in the Outback to a family comedy about a wealthy dog for Walt Disney Pictures. Elliott -- best known as the writer and director of 1994's "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert," the comedy about two drag queens and a transsexual who land a cabaret gig in the remote regions of Australia -- has sold an original comedy pitch to Disney. Elliott also is developing "Easy Virtue," an adaptation of the Noel Coward play, through Barnaby Thompson's Fragile Films.
