While ABC's breakout freshman hits, dramas "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost," received straight-out, full-season pickups, "Rodney" and "Complete Savages" first were given additional script orders -- "Rodney" for nine additional scripts and "Complete Savages" for six additional scripts -- before the network solidified its commitment with back-nine orders. By picking up "Rodney" and "Complete Savages," ABC joins CBS as a network that has picked up additional episodes of all of its freshman comedy series. After a slow start behind "8 Simple Rules" on Friday, "Complete Savages," from NBC Universal TV and Icon Prods., has improved a bit, logging a series high 2.3 rating in adults 18-49 for the past three weeks.
