A highly informative if rather hagiographic portrait of the notable playwright and performer, "The Lady in Question Is Charles Busch" should prove quite enticing for the legions of fans who have followed him throughout his career. Featuring a treasure trove of rare archival footage from such legendary productions as "Vampire Lesbians of Sodom," the documentary is a natural for cable and public television exposure, as well as a long life on DVD. Eventually, Busch would achieve mainstream success via his successful Broadway comedy "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife" and the film versions of "Psycho Beach" and "Die, Mommie, Die!" Not so well known is the fact that he recently almost died from a congenital heart condition, and was saved only by an emergency operation.
