"Open Season," the first project between video game publisher Ubisoft and Sony Pictures Animation, will be released just before the film's Sept. 29 opening. The film is Sony Pictures Animation's first CGI feature; the video game is the first in a multiple-title licensing agreement with Ubisoft that was announced more than a year ago. "Open Season" co-director Tony Stacchi said that new advances in video game and CGI technology have allowed filmmakers and video game creators to work closely on crossing the intellectual property across media.
