Singer enlists Cruise for UA WWII thriller
March 21, 2007 Tom Cruise is set to star in Bryan Singer's untitled United Artists project scripted by Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander. The untitled thriller is based on actual events and depicts an attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler at the height of World War II. However, during subsequent meetings, Singer became intrigued by the notion of Cruise as a central figure in the story and offered Cruise the role.
