'City Under Siege' set for holiday release
June 24, 2009 Universe Films is targeting next year's Chinese National Day holidays in 2010 with sci-fi actioner "City Under Siege," a $12 million effects-heavy thriller by "Connected" director Benny Chan. Special effects makeup and CG visual effects are supplied by Fat Face Productions, the Hong Kong effects house now in post-production of "Storm Warriors." "Siege" is scheduled for September 2010 release in Hong Kong and China, coinciding with the National Day holidays that had seen huge business for past releases such as "The Banquet" (2006) and "Painted Skin" (2008).
