Globe nominees speak out


December 14, 2007 In a year of topical, often violent films, a period love story like "Atonement" stands out. [...] the forces behind the most nominated film of the Golden Globes aren't sure it is all that different from other current fare. Director Joe Wright said that while he saw the movie as a "classic love story, it's also about young men at war, and what can be more relevant than that?" Star James McAvoy said the film's universality makes it appealing even in this age of the blockbuster.
