Commentary: 'Charlie' not a usual beer-drinking college film
March 24, 2009 First time filmmakers get their shot at directing in a wide range of ways, but what typically drives them is a passion to make movies. A case in point is Fred Durst, whose impressive directorial debut "The Education of Charlie Banks" opens Friday via Anchor Bay Entertainment. A Strongheart Pictures presentation in association with the Collective and the Machine, "Charlie's" screenplay is by Peter Elkoff, whose credits include episodes for the series "Ugly Betty" and "Dirty Sexy Money."
