Rachel McAdams set for ShoWest nod
March 24, 2009 Rachel McAdams, who next will be seen in Universal's political thriller "State of Play," will be honored as female star of the year at ShoWest 2009. "Since capturing the attention of Hollywood with her breakout role in 'Mean Girls,' Rachel McAdams has continued to impress audiences with her versatility," ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser said. From the satirical humor of that film, to the romance of 'The Notebook,' to the suspense of 'Red Eye,' to the outrageous comedy of 'Wedding Crashers,' McAdams has proven that she has the natural ability and depth to take on roles of all dimensions and that she is a true force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.
