YouTube to host Olympics channel


August 04, 2008 Google's video-sharing Web site and the IOC will split revenue from advertisements sold in countries including India and South Korea on the first free VOD service managed by the IOC, said a source close to the deal. The regularly updated highlights, news and daily competition clips will be produced by IOC subsidiary Olympic Broadcasting Services and be available through the 17-day period of the Games. The Beijing Olympics will be the first to offer digital media coverage freely around the world provided by the rights-holding broadcasters and/or the IOC Channel.
