Edward Zwick wins Academy seat


July 30, 2009 Edward Zwick has won the run-off election for a seat on the board of directors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where he will represent the directors branch. Earlier this month, when the Academy announced the results of its annual board elections, Zwick and Gil Cates tied for the seat, triggering the first run-off election in the Academy's history.
