Wayne Wang film gets German subsidy
June 10, 2008 Local German subsidy body Filmstiftung NRW has granted a 1.2 million euro ($1.9 million) subsidy to director Wayne Wang's next feature, "920 Sacramento," a German-U.S co-production between Cologne's Pandora Film and Double Feature Films. The drama, which tells the true story of a 19th-century woman finding fulfillment in the rough realities of San Francisco's Chinatown, will shoot over 35 days in North Rhine-Westphalia, before moving on to unconfirmed locations for exteriors. Barbara Sukowa, Joachim Krol and Hannah Herzsprung are starring in the German-French co-production between Herbert Kloiber's production entity Clasart and Celluloid Dreams.
