'The Wire' headed for BBC2

March 12, 2009 British fans of the Baltimore-based cult HBO drama "The Wire" are in for a treat when all 60 episodes of the show air on BBC2 this year. The show, which stars U.K. native Dominic West, will see all five seasons aired on the terrestrial channel, stripped across weekday nights from the spring. Sue Deeks, BBC Television's head of series, program acquisition, said the show was "ground-breaking" and described the deal as a "wonderful chance for everyone to see what the critics have been raving about for so long."
