Bridges family matriarch dies


February 19, 2009 Dorothy Bridges, an actress, author, poet and matriarch of one of Hollywood's most beloved acting families, died Feb. 16 in Los Angeles. Bridges passed away in the Holmby Hills home that she shared with her late husband, actor Lloyd Bridges, and where she raised her children, actors Beau and Jeff and daughter Lucinda. The couple studied acting with Michael Chekov at the Actors Lab, where she was said to be one of his favorite students.
