'Miracle' opens Pacific Meridian fest
September 20, 2009 The Pacific Meridian film festival got underway Saturday in Vladivostok, Russia, with a screening of Alexander Proshkin's "The Miracle." VIPs walked a blue carpet to the city's Ocean theater and over the coming week are expected to include Catherine Deneuve, American director Sean Baker ("Prince of Broadway") and Rock Brynner, who will deliver a prize in his late father Yul Brynner's honor. Others guests include actors Lidiya Shukshina, Yegor Beroyev, Ksenia Alfyorova, Aleksandr Mikhaylov and festival president Sergey Stepanchenko, honorary festival president and Primorsky territory governor Sergey Darkin and his wife, the actress Larisa Belobrova.
