Academy revisits 'Life'


July 30, 2009 The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Douglas Sirk's "Imitation of Life" with the screening of a recently struck print of the film, hosted by critic Stephen Farber, on Aug. 21 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The evening will feature a discussion with actresses Susan Kohner and Juanita Moore, who both received supporting actress nominations for the film, conducted by Kohner's sons, filmmakers Paul and Chris Weitz.
