Josh Brolin is joining the cast of "American Gangster," Imagine's 1970s crime drama film starring Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington that Ridley Scott is directing for Universal Pictures.
Brolin will play crooked NYPD cop Det. Trupo, a greedy narcotics investigator who piggybacks on Roberts' investigation in order to bleed Lucas dry.
Brolin recently wrapped "Grindhouse," acting in Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror" portion of the double feature, as well as "No Country for Old Men" for the Coen brothers.
