The plot's pretty lame, the dialogue is downright hokey, and the characters are a bore, but somehow "Final Destination 3" (an oxymoron if there ever was one) still delivers a certain degree of over-the-top amusement. Bringing back originators James Wong and Glen Morgan after another team came in for the first sequel, the latest edition again fails to hang anything rewarding on a promising death-defying hook, but as body-count horror goes, the filmmakers have truly outdone themselves when it comes to finding extremely gruesome ways to off its cast members. Fans of the franchise, who by now are well aware of exactly what's being delivered and what isn't (like any real shred of scares or suspense), should make the New Line Cinema release a popular destination in its opening weekend followed down the road by the usual killer home vid action.
