An impressive first feature by music video and commercial director David Slade, the often excruciatingly taut film, penned by playwright Brian Nelson, couldn't have arrived at a more opportune moment given recent headlines about child predators trolling MySpace.com and Internet chat rooms. Young Canadian actress Ellen Page is shockingly good in the role of Hayley, a smart, charming teenager who agrees to get together with Jeff (Patrick Wilson), an engaging fashion photographer, at a local coffee shop after meeting cute on the Internet.
