Since its creation in 1991 by Pookiesnackenburger alumni Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the U.K. theatrical phenomenon "Stomp" has played at the Oscars, for the Queen and on Sesame Street.
More than 10 million people in 36 countries have seen it, and the New York company's run at the Orpheum is now in its 11th year (the L.A. stop of the North American touring company one-third of the way through a three-month tour marks its first appearance at the Pantages).
For the uninitiated, Stomp is a nearly two-hour, uninterrupted dance and percussion romp by an eight-person ensemble using "instruments" found in an inner-city setting, including street sweepers, mops, lighters, hubcaps and trash cans.
