Hans Zimmer marching to his own tune


November 13, 2008 Zimmer spoke during a Q&A on Day 1 of The Hollywood Reporter/Billboard Film & TV Music Conference at the Sofitel hotel. The session was moderated by THR senior international features editor Kevin Cassidy after Zimmer was presented with the Maestro Award by THR editor Elizabeth Guider. The prolific composer earned the first of his six Oscar nominations for "Rain Man" (1988) and won best original score for "The Lion King" (1994).
