Oasis kicks off tour, adds New York date


August 28, 2008 Oasis kicked off its North American tour with Ryan Adams on Tuesday in Seattle, debuting four songs from its upcoming album, "Dig Out Your Soul," including first single "The Shock of the Lightning." The group also played the new "To Be Where There's Life," "Falling Down" and "Ain't Got Nothin" from "Soul," due Oct. 7 via Big Brother/Warner Bros., plus the vintage hits "Slide Away," "Cigarettes & Alcohol," "Supersonic" and "Champagne Supernova." A similar method is in use for a Sept. 27 gig at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England, which will be filmed for global broadcast by MTV.
