IFP to honor Bloomberg with Gotham nod
October 16, 2007 The NYC Department of Small Business Services has collaborated with the IFP on a pilot program giving stipends to productions supporting on-the-job training for below-the-line production crew. The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting has also partnered frequently with IFP and its executive director, Michelle Byrd, on various ourtreach programs. “The Bloomberg administration understands that independent production is the lifeblood of New York’s film community, and its connection to the next generation of film and digital media makers,” said IFP board of directors chairman Ira Deutchman.
