Tesco to offer Sony, Warners downloads
November 12, 2008 Sony Pictures Television International and Warner Bros. have signed up as launch partners for U.K. supermarket chain Tesco's plan to offer digital downloads of film and TV content to consumers. Consumers will be able to "download to own" episodic TV and film starting at 1.87 pounds ($2.79) for a TV episode, 6.97 pounds ($10.50) for a catalog film and 10.97 pounds ($16.40) for a new-release title. Tesco has a proven track record in selling entertainment products to the British public, and we look forward to working with them to extend this into digital distribution.
